Russia's WTO membership will have a positive impact on Kyrgyzstan’s economy
Bishkek, Kabar /. Russia's entering the World Trade Organization is beneficial for Kyrgyzstan, President of the Association of markets, trade and services sectors of Kyrgyzstan Sergei Ponomarev told the correspondent of the Kabar Agency.
According to his words, after Russia's WTO entry scale of rates for Kyrgyzstan in the Customs Union will be reduced. "On December 17-18 in Switzerland it will be announced when Russia enters WTO membership. Russia, owning controlling shares (57%) in the Customs Union, decides certain tariffs. They will be, of course, higher, but not as much as was stated earlier", said Sergey Ponomarev.
He also told at the same time Kyrgyzstan has less chance of losing large markets such as "Dordoi" and "Kara-Suu." "For Kyrgyzstan it will be also profitable if Kazakhstan will join the WTO faster. Perhaps, in 2012, a neighboring state will express such a desire", said Sergey Ponomarev.
