Putin tries to boost China-Russia relations
Euronews.net - Attempting to boost relations between Moscow and Beijing, the Russian prime minister has met the Chinese President as part of a two-day visit.
Both countries have talked about building up a stretegic relationship, with new business and trade deals.
This is the first overseas visit for Vladimir Putin since he confirmed he wanted to reclaim the Russian presidency.
Relations have been strained over gas in the past.
Over the past five years the neighbours have haggled over the conditions for a plan to export Russian gas to China.
The leaders insist that a final deal is close.
